Gottlieb’s Comprehensive Workshop in Tel Aviv, Israel was located at a studio just blocks from Dizengoff Center and Rabin Square over the course of five days. In that time, attendees were guided through the complete process of his direct painting method from the initial drawing to the final painting. Gottlieb provided lectures on each stage, individual instruction with daily critiques for the student, and finally a full demo from a live model, resulting in a finished painting on the final day, along with an hour-long final question and answer session.
In addition, the workshop was coordinated and planned with careful attention to create a similar setup to the painting environment that Gottlieb uses in his own studio. This included specifications for the natural and supplementary lighting, backup distance from the model, painting materials and equipment.
