Adrian Gottlieb paints the Neighborhood Portrait Project.
A special series featuring personal portraits of neighbors and friends in our working community. These are highlight portraits that Gottlieb painted to express the fleeting immediacy of everyday life living and working as craftsmen and artists in LA. All the portraits are of people we know and run into on a regular basis; people who lead interesting, creative lives and often have little time to commit to a demanding full length portrait sitting. Gottlieb painted each portrait in one or two sittings, using the Alla Prima (wet on wet) method. They are fascinating glimpses of individuals brimming with personality and attitude.” From the personal journal of the artist.
