Materials

“It is absolutely essential that my finished pieces seem to glow. If the painting does not appear to emit it’s own source of light, I do not consider the work a success.”

Goal

From my perspective, it is a professional painter’s responsibility to make a serious effort to ensure that his or her work stands the test of time, thereby respecting the trust invested by one’s patrons. I feel strongly that an art education must include an understanding and respect for the materials one will be using throughout their careers. It is an ongoing process. One is always learning through research, information exchange, experimentation and long-term experience.

My goal is that the quality of my work meets the highest standards of both creative and technical excellence. It makes good sense, therefore, to strive for the highest material standards possible — my paintings are created with longevity in mind.
